Set me free, leave me be. I don't want to fall another moment into your gravity.
Here I am and I stand so tall, just the way I'm supposed to be.
But you're on to me and all over me.
Sara Bareilles - Gravity
I absolutely love this song. I hope I'll get the opportunity to dance to it one day.
I have been finding more songs that I really like recently and they all happen to be about the same thing that I can easily relate to. One of them is Elephants by Rachael Yamagata. I actually heard it from dance because it's going to be my lyrical solo song for competition this year (even though I'm not really supposed to be competing while at school, but oh wells.) At first, I was very iffy about the song because it just sounded like a normal pretty lyrical song and my solo probably wouldn't be that significant at competition. But then I went home and downloaded the song and looked up the lyrics.. It's actually not a pretty song at all (not in a bad way). They're quite violent actually... I realized this after listening to the whole song. I think the lyrics are amazing and have sooo much meaning.
If the elephants have past lives, yet are destined to always remember,
it's no wonder how they scream,
like you and I, they must have some temper.
And I am dreaming of them on the plains, dirtying up their beds,
watching for some kind of rain to cool their hot heads.
And how dare that you send me that card when I'm doing all that I can do.
You are forcing me to remember when all I want is to just forget you.
If the tiger shall protect her young, then tell me how did you slip by.
All my instincts have failed me for once -- I must have somehow slept the whole night.
And I am dreaming of them with their kill, tearing it all apart,
blood dripping from their lips, and teeth sinking into heart.
And how dare that you say you will call, when you know I need some peace of mind..
If you had to take sides with the animals, won't you do it with one who is kind?
If the hawks in the trees need the dead, if you're living you don't stand a chance.
You can lie there and say you are fed, but there are only two ends to this dance.
You can flee with your wounds just in time, or lie there as he feeds,
watching yourself ripped to shreds and laughing as you bleed.
So for those of you falling in love, keep it kind, keep it good, keep it right.
Throw yourself in the midst of danger, but keep one eye open at night.
Rachael Yamagata - Elephants
I couldn't pick one verse so I just decided to post the whole song ahah. But basically, Rachael is singing about someone she fell in love with and is trying to forget because he hurt her badly. He knows that she still loves him and is playing with her emotions. In the song she uses the animals to describe their relationship. Their temper towards each other is described like the screams of elephants. The tiger refers to herself while the hawk refers to her lover, hence the genders noted in the verses. I really like songs that have metaphorically lyrics like this and don't spoon feed the story and meaning to the listeners. In the last two lines, she gives a warning to those in love, telling them to take the risk but be cautious because anything can happen.
I think now that I know the meaning of this song, I can appreciate my solo to this song more as it gets choreographed by my teacher. I hope I get good choreography and am able to make it my own =] My jazz solo is also to a bitter song, but I'll save it for another day.
Until next time.

And we will only need each other, we'll breathe together,
our hands will not be taught to hold another's,
when we're the special two.
And we could only see each other, we'll bleed together,
these arms will not be taught to need another's,
when we're the special two.

It's amazing what can happen in as little as two years.
I hope everyone has an awesome holiday =]
Read more...As you may already know, I have decided to knit for all my close friends for this Christmas as well as my older siblings. I am using this as an opportunity to further my knowledge of knitting.
I am also in the process of learning how to crochet because apparently it is easier? But it looks more confusing to me. I was actually at Wal Mart the other day and I bought myself a crochet hook because I saw a tutorial on ThreadBanger on how to crochet a hat. It looks really complicated x_X. But then again it is a Thread Banger tutorial and no offense but their previous knitting tutorials were completely wrong. Well, at least I think they were. Their knitting tutorial was the very first one I looked at to learn how to knit and for some reason it just wasn't working? Even on the comments below people were like wtf. So, then I finally went to a better tutorial by cyberseams =] And yes, it did work. Thread Bangers also put up another tutorial on how to knit a pidge scarf, which isn't hard at all. But of course they told people to go and refer back to their first tutorial on how to knit. This new type of scarf is basically a shorter basic scarf with just adding two button holes on the same row. And again... the button holes did not work out -_- I later found a way better tutorial on how to knit a button hole by someone else. They used a completely different method, which made tighter and cleaner button holes =]. I'm sorry, I love Thread Bangers and all, but their knitting tutorials suck.
Anyways back onto my Christmas knitting. So far, the only thing I know how to make are different types of scarves and fingerless gloves. I'm making mostly scarves because for some reason I'm not too patient with the fingerless gloves. I think maybe it's because after I finish one glove, I realize I have to do the process all over again -_-'
The first scarf I ever made was done by finger knitting! The only materials you need are 2 colours of yarn and scissors. You knit with your fingers =] I saw this tutorial on youtube (omg youtube -_-'') called No Needle Scarf Knitting. It's SUPER easy. It's also a lot faster than using needles.
I actually already gave the first scarf I made in this style to one of my friends a week ago because she's on vacation for the holidays. So, this is just another one I made, but a lot shorter.

It's been a while since I've shared a story ahah.
Today I decided to go downtown because my sister was moving into a new apartment by herself that is pretty close to my school. Also, I got a monthly pass for the GO and haven't used it enough to make the money worth it. I only went downtown for my 4 exams in December. I could have easily gotten a 10 ride pass. I needed to use my pass more often ahah.
First off, I had to walk to the GO station which took like over half an hour because my brother and my dad left without me xP They probably forgot that I was going downtown as well. I was hoping they'd drop me off at the station while they were going to my sisters apartment. I had to walk with my other brother because my parents don't like it when I walk to places by myself... even though I'm always by myself when I'm traveling to school? The walk was pretty bad considering there was a snow storm last Friday and some more snow on Sunday. People need to freakin' shovel their sidewalks!!! T_T The snow was so high. I actually fell twice. But it wasn't a very far fall =P

You sighed and I was lost in you, weeks could've past for all I knew.
You were there blanket of the over-world and so I couldn't say,
I wouldn't say "no". But they all said, "you're too young to even know,
just don't let it grow and you'll be stronger without him"
but oh, now, my world is at your feet. I was lost and I was found,
but I was alive and now I've drowned.
So now I will be waiting for the world to hear my song
so they can tell me I was wrong...

It's finally exam week.. ahhhh!! x_X
I'm going to be studying like crazy for the next two weeks.
This is my schedule
Dec 3 - Production & Interview w/ Dance teachers
Dec 5 - English
Dec 8 - Music
Dec 11 - History
I'm really happy that all my exams are equally spread out and that none of them are on the same day.
The ones I'm stressing about the most are my production and history exam. I'm thankful that both are multiple choice. But I definitely won't be relying on just luck for them. The review days for these exams were pretty useful and somewhat surprising for me. I kinda felt like they spoon feeded us in comparison to high school
For example, Production... Our teacher sent everyone a 4 page review thingy and told us to bring it to the review so of course I did. On the 4 pages were basic notes of everything we learned throughout the semester and also certain pages from the textbooks we can refer to. So, having this, I thought that during the review, my teacher would be going into more detail about each point. But no. I started taking notes, until I realized that everything he was saying was right off the sheet. And it's not like he said anything extra either. Soooo... I stopped taking notes =]
History... Right off the bat, he told us to not take any notes during the lecture. He had questions on the power point presentation, asked us for our opinions, and then revealed them. This was our review. And he also said that everything would be posted online. S'yeah. The only thing I think I need to do besides studying the questions and answers he gave us is catch up on all the plays that I did not read >_> which are a lot. I doubt that I will get to reading all of them. I will at least make sure I do study about the plays.
My English review was more like an English review in high school ahah. Like she gave us what types of questions would be on the exam and gave us 4 topics that we would have to write an essay on with only 2 of them being on the exam. I think I'd have to do a lot when studying for this. Because again, I did not read all the "short" stories. Yeah, the stories we were assigned weren't really "short" I'd say. ahah. But yeah, my englsih exam is this Friday, but I probably won't start studying for it til after my production exam. Hopefully, I'll have the time to read all the one's I have missed out on.
Music... he didn't really give us a review. But pretty much all I have to study is everything that was on the past two tests we had. I'll just be studying a lot of music definitions with the Q card method. ahah.
If you don't know what it is, I will explain =] I learned it from my grade 10 religion teacher, Bazinet. And it was REALLY helpful. We had a lot of definitions in that class to study for the exam. So, basically, you write the word you are studying on one side of the Q card, and then you write the definiton on the other side. It helpful because you see the word on its own, which would happen on a test.

Take this sinking boat and point it home.
We've still got time.
Raise your hopeful voice. You had the choice.
You've made it now. And now I'm gone.

Should I give up,
Or should I just keep chasing pavements?
Even if it leads nowhere

So it's Halloween and I have discovered that the Ryerson Theatre School building is haunted =] yayyy
I actually found this out like two days ago but didn't actually research it til today. I was never really a ghost believer before but I'm pretty sure I will be cautious around the theatre school from now on. Well, maybe not a lot but definitely whenever I'm alone and its late x_X. I never thought of the theatre school being haunted and all. In one of the two dance studios that we usually have class in called Llyod, the door always seems to open and close on its own sometimes. I always though it was a draft or something? but it happened quite often. And I never thought of the idea of a ghost or something. It didn't really bother me that much. Also, during Improv class once in that studio, there would be random banging noises from the other side. We were presenting our 30 seconds of choreography based on 3 magazine pictures at this time. I thought the banging noises were just coming from people moving around stuff or something? but then I realized that the next week during Improv, it was happening again. And for some reason I've only been noticing it during Improv even though we have other classes in the same room on other days of the week. I don't know if it has to do anything with the idea of the third floor being haunted or anything ahah.
I read like two articles from google about Ryerson being haunted. One of them was actually on wikipedia T_T. But most of what freaky things people noticed were directed to the McAllister studio which is the other studio that I go to a lot. There's one saying that the north east corner is always cold or something? I'm not exactly sure which corner in the room is north east but i wouldn't mind checking this out the next time I'm there. There's also something about the lights flickering and stuff. As far as I know that hasn't happened in my classes yet. The freakiest would probably be being alone in McAllister. Apparently, you feel like you're being watched and you might hear someone whisper your name. SO! I'm definately not gonna be alone in that studio ever knowing that x_X. There's other creepy stuff like seeing a white figure of a girl also. But I'm not gonna even try and look for that >_> Ughhh writing about this stuff this late on Halloween night is giving me the creeps too D:

It's like we turned back time. Thanks for everything ♥
Read more...I'm really big on downloading music and finding out the meanings of the lyrics. I do this usually for songs that I could possibly dance to. I have no idea how to define this type of music especially when people ask me, "So! What kind of music do you listen to?"...so I shall just call it 'contemporary music'? meh.
Every so often special songs come to me that I download and listen to like all the time. Most of these songs are heard from dance ahah and most likely no one else but dancers will know them.. yayyy. So I thought it'd be an awesome idea to share whatever new songs come to me in the future with you!.. who ever you are D: don't know why you're here! XD
Anyways, I shall be sharing this song that I've actually known for a while from So You Think You Can Dance. Katee and Joshua danced to this song, but I wasn't really into it until I saw Pam Chu and Ben Susak do the exact same routine on youtube. They were actually the original dancers for this routine and they danced to the whole song.
They are sooo amazing! I really like the choreography because it's more human? For some reason, those kind of movements appeal to me more as a dancer. There were so many powerful moments. I felt they were more intense and more passionate than Katee and Joshua.
I also found it kinda funny how both girls are asian! (asian pride yayyy ^^v)
So, after seeing this dance, I obviously had to go and download this song and look up the lyrics! XD I'm sure it's obvious that its by John Mayer. A very familiar voice. I don't actually have that many of his songs on my ipod. I guess this would be my THIRD John Mayer song I've ever downloaded. I love the lyrics. Even the title itself is beautiful on its own. (Not sure if beautiful is the word ahah but you know what I mean) These lyrics stand out the most to me.
"It's not a silly little moment
It's not the storm before the calm
This is the deep and dying breath of
This love we've been working on"
"I was the one you always dreamed of
You were the one I tried to draw
How dare you say it's nothing to me
Baby, you're the only light I ever saw"
"Go cry about it, why don't you?
My dear, we're slow dancing in a burning room"
I find that these songs always come to me at the right time in my life.
Last week, I finally got a new ipod! (yayyy)
I only got one because I had the very first nano and the battery started dying since i've been using it for 3 years. Music is my saviour when I am commuting to school because I'm by myself most of the time. And even if I do see someone I know on the bus or train, mostly likely I won't be able to sit with them because there are barely any empty seats for two people. With my nano, if i just kept scrolling around to find songs, after like 10 minutes it would die. So in order for it to last I would just have to play it and leave it on. And then maybe it'll last for almost an hour. If I wanted to change a song, the power would decrease even more soo i was really hesitant about it aaand it sucked T_T

My birthday is coming up and I got my first birthday greeting from a sales associate in pmall.
